Stefan Bojsten is one of the most established and well
known pianists in Sweden. He has been soloist with most
of the Swedish orchestras, and
he is active as well as a soloist as well as a chamber musician
with performances in Scandinavia, Great Britain, France, Germany,
Ireland, Italy, Rumania China and USA.
Among the awards that Stefan Bojsten has obtained in international
competitions, the height was in 1985 when the duo Bojsten – Almgren
won the first prize in one of the world’s biggest
chamber music competitions; the premio Vittorio Gui in
Florens which resulted in invitations to festivals and
tours all over Europe.
In 1986 Stefan Bojsten, violinist Dan Almgren and cellist
Torleif Thedéen formed Stockholm Arts Trio. The
piano trio soon was international established and invited
to for instance the Bath Festival and Carnegie Hall in
New York.
As a teacher Stefan Bojsten has given master classes in USA
and Russia, and from 1997 he is Professor and Head of department
at the Royal
College of Music in Stockholm.
He is vice president in Swedish
Piano Teachers Association (EPTA Sweden) as well as president in the assiciation
for 19th century keyboard instruments in Sweden, "Klaverens
Hus".
Stefan Bojsten has made recordings under the labels Polar, Caprice,
Fermat, Artemis , Map, Recut, Musica Sveciae, BIS and Naxos.
